What are Anti Wrinkle Treatments?
Scientific studies have shown that repeated use of certain facial muscles causes creasing of the skin in areas of greatest use. In addition, the ageing process causes a decrease in collagen and elastin production in the skin, so that with time, these areas of over use become damaged and unflattering lines become more permanent, producing what are commonly known as ‘frown lines’, ‘forehead creases’, ‘crows feet’ or ‘wrinkles’.
Anti wrinkle injections contain botulinum toxin, a purified natural protein that relaxes the muscles of the face that are responsible for these lines and wrinkles. By reducing their contraction, we can soften the appearance of the skin and take away that tired and fatigued look. The amount of toxin used is small and safe.
After treatment, your skin around the area which has been treated will look smooth and less wrinkled. Anti wrinkle injections allow the untreated areas of your face to move as normal and you will still be able to laugh, smile and frown, but with less wrinkling of the skin in the areas treated.
This will smooth lines and give you a more youthful, rejuvenated look. This is a relatively quick procedure with very little downtime.
Hyperhidrosis
Botulinum toxin injections have also come to be widely used in managing excessive underarm sweating a condition known as hyperhidrosis. The treatment works by blocking the nerve signals that instruct the sweat glands to become active. It takes three to four days for the results of the injections for hyperhidrosis to become evident. Depending on each person, as well as the area beating treated, the results last for up to six months.
Bruxism
Botulinum toxin can also be effectively used for bruxism, a condition where a person clenches their jaw and grinds their teeth, often while asleep. This can cause pain in the jaw and in severe cases damage to teeth. Injecting botulinum toxin into the overactive masseter muscles in the jaw relaxes the muscle thereby reducing the overactive masseter.

Frequently Asked Questions
WHO IS SUITABLE FOR ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS?
Anti-wrinkle injections are suitable for people who wish to reduce the appearance of forehead lines, frown lines or wrinkles around their eyes. We are often asked where anti-wrinkle injections should be applied to reduce the signs of ageing, this is different for every patient.
HOW LONG DO ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS LAST?
They usually last for around 3-4 months. We advise all of our clients that during the first year of anti-wrinkle treatment, you may need to have the treatment done approximately 3 times.
DOES THE TREATMENT HURT?
This is a non-surgical treatment, therefore, the procedure is largely pain-free. If you are uncomfortable with needles, then you may feel mild discomfort which is experienced due to the small needle injection involved
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE TREATMENT?
You can carry on with your day as normal. The only cautious advice is to avoid strenuous activity, saunas and other facial treatments for up to 24 hours. The results from anti-wrinkle injections can be seen 4-10 days after having treatment when you will notice an improvement in your lines and wrinkles.
WHAT ARE THE POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS?
The most common side effect is mild bruising at the site of the injection. Some people also report mild headaches shortly after the treatment, but these usually subside within 24 hours.
ARE ANTI WRINKLE TREATMENTS SAFE?
Anti-wrinkle injections are safe when they are completed by a trained professional practitioner. Practitioners must have the appropriate training to complete this non-surgical treatment, the risks are extremely minimal.
HOW DOES THE BODY BREAK DOWN THE ANTI WRINKLE PRODUCTS?
Over time, the components are broken down into harmless particles called amino acids. The broken-down components are excreted from the kidneys as waste, or they're used in other proteins
WHAT IS A LIP FLIP?
This involves injecting anti wrinkle product to relax the upper lip which allows the lip to roll slightly upward so it appears more voluminous and defined. It is an excellent alternative to fillers for clients who want a more subtle enhancement. This muscle relaxation can also help smooth vertical lines around the lips.
What are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are a soft injectable gel consisting of hyaluronic acid. The gel is tissue-friendly and closely resembles the hyaluronic acid that exists naturally in the body. It is long-lasting but not permanent.
Dermal fillers work by boosting the skin’s supply of hyaluronic acid. They revitalise and add volume to the skin, instantly diminishing the appearance of lines and wrinkles, and giving a natural softer look.
Dermal filler injections provide an easy way to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, smooth the skin and give a more youthful appearance. The result of a single treatment can be seen instantly and can last for around 9 to 18 months. Dermal filler injections can give a natural looking result that does not affect facial expression. As your face changes over time, dermal fillers allow you to control your looks subtly as you age.
Dermal fillers can be used to smooth away facial lines and wrinkles, create fuller lips and shape facial contours, such as cheeks and chin, and revitalise the skin.
Occasionally dermal fillers may require dissolving. This can be due to previous incorrect placement, lumps & bumps, poor results, filler migration, accumulation of hyaluronic acid, or simply changes in aesthetic trends (lips!) Rudgwick Aesthetics can reverse your Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers with a special enzyme called Hyalase or hyaluronidase.

Frequently Asked Questions
HOW DO DERMAL FILLERS WORK?
As time goes on, our bodies produce lower amounts of the proteins which give us a youthful look – namely elastin and collagen. Dermal fillers work to smooth the deep lines in the face which appear as wrinkles. This injectable treatment can add volume which has been lost in these areas since elastin and collagen production has dropped. In this way, dermal fillers can enhance the appearance of the face, adding ‘lift’.
IS THE DERMAL FILLERS PROCEDURE PAINFUL?
An anaesthetic cream might be used first to numb your skin. Injections are given around the area of your face being treated, which is then massaged. It might feel uncomfortable but should not be painful.
ARE DERMAL FILLERS SAFE?
Dermal fillers are recognised as a minimally invasive, safe procedure. Because the hyaluronic acid which is used in the treatment is naturally occurring in the body, there is no recognised risk of an allergic reaction.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO SEE RESULTS?
After the treatment, you can expect to see results immediately. Over a two to a four-week period following the procedure, results will gradually become even more apparent.
HOW LONG DO DERMAL FILLERS LAST?
The amount of time which the results last will vary from person to person, but this is usually between 9 and 18 months.
ARE THERE AND SPECIAL STEPS FOR AFTERCARE?
People can resume normal activities immediately after the dermal fillers treatment. It is usually recommended for a day following treatment to avoid high intensity exercise, touching/rubbing areas injected, alcohol and cold or extreme heat.
What are vitamin B12 injections?
Vitamin B12 is also known as Cobalamin, it is a water-soluble vitamin essential for both fatty acid and amino metabolism as well as DNA synthesis. It is vital for the normal functioning of the nervous system and aids the formation of red blood cells, which is crucial for carrying oxygenated blood around the body.
Vitamin B12 is found naturally in meat, fish, dairy products and eggs. People who find it difficult to get enough vitamin B12 in their diets, such as those following a vegan diet, may need a supplement of vitamin B12.
Vitamin B12 is a powerhouse—and it helps make you feel like a powerhouse, too!
Vitamin B12 in the form of Hydroxocobalamin is given by intramuscular injection. A course of Vitamin B12 injections may increase energy levels and concentration, improve metabolism and may aid weight loss, boost the immune system, and improve some neurological signs and symptoms.
Other benefits of Vitamin B12 include helping with:
Lethargy and tiredness
Nails and hair growth
Joint pain
Poor memory
Mood swings
Weight loss and loss of appetite
Anaemia
Sleeplessness

What are Profhilo and Sunekos?
Profhilo
As we age the presence of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) in the skin naturally starts to drop which causes the skin to lose its natural firmness and elasticity. Most people begin to see the effects of HA depletion in their 30's and Profhilo is the perfect treatment for anyone looking to counteract this.
Profhilo is a moisturising treatment which is revolutionary due to the fact that the HA is injected “beneath the skin.” It has a prolonged stimulating activity on the collagen and elastin, which also attracts water into the deeper layers of the skin. The stimulation results in a significant tightening and lifting effect on the tissue.
How is Profhilo different to HA-based fillers?
Without going too deeply into the science, the ingredients in Profhilo are thermally-bonded (i.e. using heat) rather than chemically-bonded, which is how dermal fillers are made.
This process changes the composition and use of the HA, making it perfect for hydrating the skin rather than filling smaller areas.
As a result, Profhilo is a runnier, gel-like substance that – when injected – smoothly spreads out and is absorbed within a 2cm radius of the injection site.
Sunekos
Sunekos is an injectable treatment that combines hyaluronic acid and amino acids to rejuvenate and hydrate the skin.Sunekos regenerates the Extra Cellular Matrix (ECM) of your skin and deeply hydrates and plumps the treated tissue. This leads to a reduction in the severity of your wrinkles, hydration to both the superficial and deep layers of your skin, a desirable volumising effect and a dramatic boost to your elastin and collagen.
Sunekos promotes the production of collagen and elastin, helping to restore skin elasticity and firmness, reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and dark skin under the eyes.
Individuals experiencing signs of aging such as fine lines, wrinkles, dark circles, hyperpigmentation and loss of elasticity around the eyes would benefit from Sunekos

Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I have profhilo and how long does it last?
The preferred regime is to inject Profhilo into 10 areas of the face over two visits a month apart. It can be used on the neck as well.
Profhilo typically lasts 6-9 months however this will vary from person to person
What is the best age for Profhilo?
There is no definitive answer to this question as everyone ages differently and will have different needs and preferences. However, many experts agree that the best age for Profhilo is between 30 and 60. This is when most people start to see the first signs of ageing, such as fine lines and wrinkles.
Profhilo can help to plump and hydrate the skin, giving it a more youthful appearance. If you are younger than 30 or older than 60, you may still be able to benefit from Profhilo
Is Profhilo painful?
Profhilo treatment is not painful, but some people may feel a slight sting when the needle is injected into the skin. The treatment itself is quick and easy, and most people only need to undergo two treatment sessions in order to see results.
What should you not do after Profhilo?
After receiving Profhilo treatment, it is important to not massage or manipulate the treated area. This can cause the product to spread outside of the injection area and result in uneven results. It is also important to not expose the treated area to extreme heat or cold, as this can affect the product’s efficacy.
What are the risks of Profhilo?
The most common side effect that could occur is bruising or swelling at the injection site.
Is Sunekos treatment painful?
Sunekos is generally well-tolerated.
Some patients may experience mild discomfort during the injection, but a topical aesthetic can be applied to minimise any pain.
How long does the procedure take?
The procedure typically takes about 30 minutes.
What is the recovery time after Sunekos treatment?
There is minimal downtime. Patients can usually resume their normal activities immediately, although some may experience some swelling at the injection site for a few hours.
Are there any side effects?
Common side effects include redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection site. These usually resolve within a few days.
How long does Sunekos last?
Depending on the patients and their skin conditions, results can last for up to 6 months before repeating the procedure. However, severely damaged skin does need specific care therefore it is recommended to do maintenance treatments every 3 or 4 months
